That message means their phone has not reached our servers recently, not that their phone is broken. The usual causes are location permission set to While Using instead of Always, Background App Refresh switched off, Low Power Mode, or genuinely no coverage.

The app has a readiness check that looks at all of these on the phone in question and tells you which one it is. Open settings from the gear in the top right.

iOS decides when a backgrounded app gets to run. Two settings make a real difference: location permission set to Always with Precise Location on, and Background App Refresh on. Low Power Mode delays almost everything by design.

Tell us when it happens and roughly what you were doing. A dropped phone in a moving car can look like a small impact. The alert always gives you time to cancel before anything is sent to your Circle.

Circles tab, open the Circle, Leave this Circle. Your location history in that Circle goes with you. The owner can also remove a member at any time.

Settings, then Delete account. That removes your profile, your places and your location history from our servers. Write to us if you would rather we did it for you.

Ring plays through the media channel so it works on silent. It cannot override Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode that blocks the app, and it needs the phone to be online.

Open their card from the map, or press and hold their message in the chat, then choose Report or block. You can send a report, hide what they write, or both.

Blocking hides their messages and notes from you. It does not hide where they are, because that is what the Circle is for, and they are not told. To stop sharing with them altogether, leave the Circle. If the Circle is yours, you can remove them instead.

Blocked people are listed under Settings, Blocked, and you can unblock from there. We read every report, usually within a day. Write to [email protected] if you need us sooner.
